I noticed this small alley along Stockton st. at Union Square and I've always wanted to walk along the alley but never did, until yesterday that is.
I went to buy fabric for my final project and the fabric store has a back door to this alley. The name of this alley is "Maiden Lane". It's not a long alley or anything, it only goes on for 2 blocks. Walking along the alley made me feel happy, it has a somewhat European vibe to it and the atmosphere was lovely and I thought I'd share it with you.
Maiden Lane is filled with upper-middle-end and high-end stores like Chanel, Diptyque, Theory, Marc Jacobs, All Saints, etc. I went in to Diptyque, I've heard so many good things about it and when I saw they have a boutique here in Maiden Lane I was eager to visit. The products are not cheap at all but I went in there nonetheless and I have to say that they have one of the loveliest window display and store set up and the best thing is that the boutique smells magical!
Make sure you visit Maiden Lane if you're in San Francisco! I think it would look even better at night when the hanging lights are on!
