Oil vs Butter

Camomile Cleansing Oil // Camomile Cleansing Butter

I was planning to write this post since the beginning of this month when I purchased the Camomile Cleansing Oil. I have quite sensitive skin, it's dry but acne prone skin, very hard to maintain to be honest. I used to use makeup wipes to remove my makeup and wash my face with my regular face wash afterwards, but for some reason it gave me an unpleasant stinging feel on my face, so I decided to stop using it and turn to an actual face cleanser. I stumbled upon this cleansing butter from The Body Shop and I gave it a go. After I finished my cleansing butter, I gave the cleansing oil a try.

I use both of them to remove my make up and I slowly add water to my face before wiping my face with washcloth (soaked in warm water) to remove the oil/butter.

The cleansing butter is solid and I had to rub the product on my fingers before putting it on my face. It made my eyes a bit cloudy for a few seconds after I use it (anyone else experience this? or is it just because I wear contacts?), but it doesn't sting. It's travel friendly but it's not the most hygienic thing because you'll have to dip your fingers in.

The cleansing oil is heavier than the cleansing butter. It didn't make my eyes as cloudy as the balm but I feel the balm remove my eye makeup better than this. It's not travel friendly but it's obviously more hygienic than the butter.

I personally prefer the cleansing butter. It feels nicer on my skin and not as heavy.

Have you ever try any of these? What do you think about them?

  3. I haven't tried these but I usually prefer a balm to an oil to remove my makeup! Loved your review ;) xx

  4. I haven't tried these but I've heard mixed reviews about them - they do look lovely and sound quite nourishing especially for the winter months when skin gets dryer and a lot more sensitive so will be giving it a go! :)

  5. I like cleansing oils but I've never heard of a cleansing butter. I have a Josie Maran cleansing oil that I like a lot, I've found it doesn't sting my eyes and it takes everything off.
