Summer Stripes

white chocolate dress // miztique bag // vans sneakers

It was quite warm here lately, in fact it was 31C last friday and my pale legs finally got some sun!
I got this dress years ago when my dad got back from Hong Kong. I never wear this before I moved here because it's too thick for Bali.
I wore this dress once in this blog and that was almost a year ago here. I like how versatile this dress is, I can wear it in the autumn and windy summer days.
There were pockets on the side of the dress but unfortunately I had to cut them out because the pockets make the dress look wired when I had it on. I rarely have this dress on, after a few accident tumble-drys, it shrunk. I'm still trying to stretch it using water, hopefully it works.

One Skirt, Two Ways

zara sweater // vintage bracelet & rings // miztique bag //  pink&pepper boots

h&m tank // simplicity cardigan //vintage polo ralph lauren bag // converse shoes
The weather was insanely warm! It was quite a while since the last time I wore this skirt which I think was in this post. I was going to wear it with the sweater and boots but then I realized it was too warm to wear sweater, and why not take advantage of the warm weather and wear something lighter? So here are two out of a few way I like to style this skirt. I like to keep it simpler on the top since the skirt is pretty much a statement piece, the yellow is so bright (not bright enough to be neon, though).
How would you style it?

Brazilian Chocolate

A friend of mine went to Brazil a while ago to watch the world cup and when she stopped by San Francisco, she gave me this two boxes of delicious chocolate. If you are going to Brazil anytime soon or if you know somebody that's going to Brazil soon, ask them to bring you back these! They are soooo good! Especially Goiabinha, I honestly have no idea what it is but all I know is love at first bite, seriously.

New Friend

If you follow me on instagram, you'll know I got a new friend.
Last friday I went to IKEA with my friend to get a few things. I've wanted to have a cactus (or cactaceae) for a while now. Why? First, they're cute. Second, they don't die easily. Third, low maintenance. Perfect for college student! Am I going to get more on my next trip to IKEA? I don't know yet, we'll see.

Button It Up

vintage hand-me-down shirt // zara jeans // forever 21 heels // h&m necklace

I adored this pair of pumps and this one is easier to walk in than the other one because the platform is not too high and I can "feel" the ground. I love the height it gives and how it balances out the loose button up shirt (which I LOVE).
The only thing is, the color. Lately I've been wishing that it was black or maybe some neutral color. It's made from suede material so I'm not sure if I want to take the time to dye them or just leave them as they are? What do you think?

Light Layering

Layer up, no matter hot/cold it is outside right now, just layer up — a tip every San Franciscan gave me. There's no scorching hot weather here, sometimes t-shirt and jeans are enough, but when it gets windy they're not enough. Most of the time I would think to pair everything I wear with my trustee leather jacket, but hey, my leather jacket needed a break and often it gets too hot wearing that. So I opted for an oversized flannel instead, which I find to be perfect, it's not too thick or thin, and if the weather get a little warmer, I can just tie it around my waist.

Top Knot

I was reading a post on Le Fashion the other day and I was so inspired with her "19 Ways To Wear A Halp-Up Top Knot". I'm not a big fan of doing a half up and I thought this is a great way to do it! Not too polished, easy to do, and perfect for the windy situation (everyday in San Francisco).
What do you think? Yay or nay?

One Thing Leads To Another

ZARA jeans & sweater
Happy Friday! Are you excited for the weekend?
Do you remember when I told you I was looking for the perfect jeans? You see, finding a pair of jeans that is not too long or look wired is a challenge for a 5'2" girl. After going to a stores, I went in to a  ZARA store, I've never thought I would find a pair of jeans that would fit me there, but I was wrong. Ta-da! Search is over!
I found this pair of jeans amongst plies of other jeans. And of course, I wouldn't just try the jeans on without looking around first. While I was looking around I found this sweater and I just had to try it on. I walked to the fitting room with at least 5 pair of jeans to try and this sweater. I was surprised when I tried this pair of jeans on and it fit nicely. It's actually a cropped style, but it's a full length for me, haha. I fell in love with the sweater as soon as I tried it on. It fits loosely on me and the material is perfect for the weather here.

Mid-Summer Wishlist

I've been so obsessed with this perfume since the first time I saw it at Bloomingdales, but it was $76-$94, which is not cheap at all. And yes, I'm a perfume addict. I recently found out they sell the rollerball version of it in Sephora and I'm going to get my hands on it, sooner or later.
I've seen some bloggers wearing this pair of shorts and they look so nice AND comfortable, the perfect combo.
It has been a few months since I ran out of my liquid liner, and I've been missing it so so so badly, maybe it's time to get one and bring back my subtle cat eye.
I first saw this pair of beauties in New York and I tried it on (big mistake) and they look so nice! I've been wanting ankle boots that goes with everything and this is the perfect thing.
I love the rings on knuckle and layering rings trend. I found this pack on the topshop site and boy, oh, boy are they pretty or what?
I've been wanting a new eyeshadow palette for a while and I've been eyeing this palette for a while. It has the prettiest colors!
Just trying to be more organized with blogging and assignments.
Just look at them!
I used to wear stripes all the time, I'm not sure what I was thinking but I didn't bring any with me when I moved here, striped shirt is an essential!
10. Full Tilt Womens Chambray Button Front Skirt
90% of the skirts that I own are skater skirts or a-line skirts and they are not wind-friendly. This skirt would be perfect for SF and plus, it has pockets!

It's mid-summer and I've been wanting many, many things. Recently, I had the I-hate-everything-in-my-closet moment. Let me tell you, I'm not over it yet. I made a spring wishlist last March and I actually enjoyed making it. Even though I didn't buy any of them in the end (except for the perfume, thanks Uni!), I still love making wishlists nonetheless, reminder for me to save up so I can buy them.

What's on your summer wishlist?

Not Anytime Soon

stradivarius sweater & pants // june and julia x sonia eryka shoes

I haven't worn this pair of shoes for a while now. I was thinking of wearing them the other day but then I changed my mind — I tried to walk around my room for a while and realized that it was too risky to try to walk in these. It seems like I've lost my ability to walk with chunky shoes on my feet, is that possible? It was kind of bizarre to me, I used to run in these and had no problem at all! But well, living in San Francisco equals walking around all the time, I don't wear platform wedges all the time. I'll give it another shot (not anytime soon). And I need to practice walking in heels again.

8:28 PM

I love summer sun and I love sunset at 8:30 PM.
I've been doing my homework (and procrastinating) all day. I was about to turn my blinds and I saw the sky. Wow, I've never noticed how beautiful it is around this hour. I had to open my window, take out my camera and take this one shot. No, it's not a pinky, purply, whatever-color sky. It's a lot simpler. Just the color of the sun and the grayish blue sky. And yet, still beautiful, at least I think so, haha. And this is probably the shortest post I've ever made.

Dynamic

I'm a big nail polish fan, I love painting my nails but I hate the waiting-for-them-to-dry part because I usually would do something and ruined my not-so-dry-yet nails.
I've heard so much about Sephora's Formula X nail polishes and I really want to try one to see what it is all about. I test the nail polishes a few times but I can never justify myself to spend $10 on a bottle nail polish unless I know they're really good. I walking around Sephora the other day to look around and I found this little part of the store that turns out to be the sale section for the nail polish. I saw this color called "Dynamic" and I've never had a grey/taupe nail polish in my life before, plus I just think it would be a good neutral color (there you go, my justification to buy new nail polish). And the best part? I got it for half the price! I googled this color and found out this is one out three colors they had for Formula X's "The Cut" spring 2014.
It's really easy to use, great pigmentation, smooth, and dries quickly, which I really appreciate. I only need to apply 2 coats which is great considering I usually have to apply 3 coats to get the nice opaque look with other nail polishes. I'm not quite sure how long it will last on my nails, so I will update about that!
I would definitely recommend this nail polish, it's totally worth it!

UPDATE
It chips within a week on my nails, which is meh for me. I'm not the best at painting nails, so staying power is what I look for when I buy nail polishes. On my toes however they're basically untouched, it has been more than a week and no chip at all. So, I would give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Bag Essentials

I love reading blog posts about people's bag essentials or watch what's in my bag videos on youtube and I thought it would be fun to do a bag essentials.

1. Wallet/cardholder from Daiso
2. Earpods — because music is one of the greatest thing ever.
3. Hair ties and bobby pins
4. Sunglasses — I bought this sunglasses a while ago at the Fisherman's Wharf area, love it!
5. A pen
6. Hand sanitizer — because I take the metro/bus to go anywhere.
7. Lip product — my lips are as dry as a lizard so lip balm is a must. And some lipsticks because I look really really pale if I don't put anything on.
8. USB/memory card — they're very handy when I need them.
9. A pouch filled with coins — the main reason I hate carrying cash around.
10. Face powder — keep the shine away.
11. Compact mirror — my phone camera is not helpful at all to see if I have things on my teeth or not.
12. Tissue

What's in your handbag?

Summer in SF

new look sweater // DIY jeans // miztique bag  // pink&pepper boots

Summer in San Francisco is not hot and sweaty, it's actually pretty chilly and foggy. Sure, there are warmer days, but most of the time it's too cold to wear shorts. I like it though, it's not as cold as winter but not as hot as Bali.
This pair of ripped jeans is probably one of my favorite DIY I've ever done. I've own this pair of jeans for quite a while now, the fit is not so great anymore, the color faded, and I was about to get rid of it. But then I saw some ripped jeans like the one from whistles and topshop, and I just got inspired to ripped the knee area of my old jeans to make it look different. I really need to find a new pair of jeans to replace this one, though. Finding a nice pair of skinnies is like a mission for me — everything is way too long for me. Hopefully I can find one soon.

Sundress

It's not a secret that I'm a sucker for things that smell good and I've become candle addict since my first candle. I've been eyeing this candle since the first time I saw it at Bath & Body Works. I wasn't sure if I wanted to get this one or Bali Sunrise (I swear sunrise in Bali doesn't smell that good) from target. They both smell amazing, but unfortunately, target ran out of stock of the Bali Sunrise and my Paris Daydream is a goner.
The other night Uni whatsapped me and told me that there's a huge sale at Bath & Body Works and I was so happy when I found out that this candle is on sale as well! and BAM! my room smells uh-may-zing!
