The month August meant a lot to me. Among other things, this month last year was the first time I came to this beautiful city. I finished my summer class earlier this month and I've been trying to explore more and go out of my room more. An as you can see up there are some of my favorite posts. I'm starting my Fall semester soon and I really hope I still can blog regularly.

Here are some more pictures from this month

I'll have a post about this special guy soon (hopefully)

Shiny Surface

stradivarius leather jacket // h&m crop top // forever 21 skirt // pink&pepper boots

I found this skirt at forever 21 earlier this year and I couldn't resist. I love the color and the shiny, plastic-y surface of it. It's not the best thing to wear when it's super windy outside. I wore this skirt with my black Stradivarius sweater that I love a little bit too much (as seen here) and a pair of boots.

How would you style this skirt?

Oil vs Butter

Camomile Cleansing Oil // Camomile Cleansing Butter

I was planning to write this post since the beginning of this month when I purchased the Camomile Cleansing Oil. I have quite sensitive skin, it's dry but acne prone skin, very hard to maintain to be honest. I used to use makeup wipes to remove my makeup and wash my face with my regular face wash afterwards, but for some reason it gave me an unpleasant stinging feel on my face, so I decided to stop using it and turn to an actual face cleanser. I stumbled upon this cleansing butter from The Body Shop and I gave it a go. After I finished my cleansing butter, I gave the cleansing oil a try.

I use both of them to remove my make up and I slowly add water to my face before wiping my face with washcloth (soaked in warm water) to remove the oil/butter.

The cleansing butter is solid and I had to rub the product on my fingers before putting it on my face. It made my eyes a bit cloudy for a few seconds after I use it (anyone else experience this? or is it just because I wear contacts?), but it doesn't sting. It's travel friendly but it's not the most hygienic thing because you'll have to dip your fingers in.

The cleansing oil is heavier than the cleansing butter. It didn't make my eyes as cloudy as the balm but I feel the balm remove my eye makeup better than this. It's not travel friendly but it's obviously more hygienic than the butter.

I personally prefer the cleansing butter. It feels nicer on my skin and not as heavy.

Have you ever try any of these? What do you think about them?

Darker Than Dark

h&m necklaces // cloth inc shirt // forever21 jeans // june & julia shoes
I can't really remember the last time I wore an all black outfit. I tried to incorporate more colors to my wardrobe last year and I think I did a decent job, but I really miss my monochrome. I think you can never go wrong with it. and yes, I DIY-ed the ripped knee, it makes the jeans a lot more comfortable and I can't get enough of it.

How do you feel about all black outfit?

Flume, TDCC, and The Dø

Tennis Court (Flume Remix) // Two Door Cinema Club - Changing of The Seasons // The Dø - Too Insistent Trentemøller Remix
I've been listening to these songs on loop for the past week and I thought why not share them? So here they are!
1. I've been enjoying songs by Flume since the beginning of the year (thanks to my dorm roomie) and recently I found out about the Tennis Court remix and I love it!
2. I love two door cinema club! This song is from their 2013 album and I find it super catchy.
3. I discovered this song from one of my favorite bloggers, Andy Torres of StyleScrapbook. I love her taste in music (and fashion too of course!) I like the original version as well.

What songs are you loving at the moment?

My Top 6 iPhone Photography Apps

I love taking pictures but there are moments where I don't have my camera with me and all I have with me is my phone. My phone is iPhone 4 and I have my phone for over 4 years now. And let me tell you ladies and gentelemen, the camera sucks, therefore I always use apps to make it decent  and here are some of my favorites!

Let's start with two most well known apps.

1. Instagram
I'm sure you know what this is, everybody has them (even their adorable pets have instagram accounts). I first using instagram years ago and my first picture was taken 162weeks ago (you do the math). Back then instagram has the popular page filled with wonderfully photographed pictures on it. I do notice they don't have the popular page anymore and they have the explore page instead which I really like. I love looking through instagram when I'm feeling uninspired and bored.

2. VSCOcam
It's another app that I love. I'm sure you've seen the #VSCOcam on instagram. I love the filters on this app, they make everything look better!

3. EyeEm
I discovered this app through a blogger (I can't remember who) and it's basically another instagram app with better filters and there are a lot of people taking amazing photos.

4. iRetouch Free
I use this app to do basic editing like cropping, color adjustment, brightness, etc.

5. Reflection
I love this app when I'm in the mood of making some images with the mirror effect.

6. #NoCrop
Sometimes Most of the time I want to upload a picture on instagram without cropping it and this app is perfect! It's user friendly and it doesn't leave watermark of the app on the picture.

What are some of your favorite photography apps?

Lazy Days

cloth-inc top // h&m romper // miztique bag // ishkzia shoes
Just one those lazy days when I don't know what to wear and can't be bothered to stare at closet for the next 30 minutes. I got this romper from H&M and I love it so much! I really want to get my hands on the black one but I don't think they have it anymore. Layering it with a plain grey top for the warmer (but still windy) days — I'll probably hate myself later when I need to go the restroom. I put on these black boots because you can never go wrong with black boots.

What's your lazy day outfit?

Golden Gate Park + Pho

h&m sweater // zara jeans // nike shoes // miztyque bag

If you follow me on instagram, you'll probably recognize the first picture. I went to the Golden Gate Park with my friend because we have nothing better to do. I have never been to the west part of the park before. After 40 blocks later we were hungry and there are plenty of restaurants on Irving st. and out of everything we picked this small pho restaurant called Loi's. That was my very first pho and I was satisfied! It was delicious!

Have you ever tried pho?

One more thing, happy birthday to my beloved country, Indonesia! I wish I can be in Indonesia and eat all the good food!

Delicate Tear Drops

I have sensitive ears and because of that reason, it's really hard for me to find earrings that I really like and won't irritate my ears. I've been wearing random earrings for years and I had to take them off before shower and at night, it was too much work and I haven't even bother wearing any earrings for months now. With the fear of my piercing holes closing up, I told myself to get a pair of simple earrings that won't irritate my ears.

I'm obsessed with delicate jewelries and when I was browsing Etsy (one of my favorite things to do) I stumbled upon some beautiful delicate earrings. I decided to get a pair of delicate tear drop studs (14k gold filled) from JulJewelry. I love how simple they are and the best part, they were barely there when I have them on.

What do you think about it?

Somewhere in San Francisco

camomile tea

Here are some quite recent pictures that I found on my laptop. Ever since I'm done with my summer classes, I haven't been as productive as I want to be. Go to bed really late, woke up late, and staying at home (eyes glued to my laptop) most of the time. I really need to get out of this bad habit. I'm thinking of bringing my camera along with me when I go out. I'm planning to explore more, hopefully I can find more interesting thing to post!
