Air Plant

I needed an air plan for a midterm project that I'll share soon and of course that's the best reason to get one — wink, wink. As you know, I got some cacti few months ago and not too long ago, and I decided to repotted them a little while ago. Unfortunately, they're dead and I don't know why. Is it because I didn't get a new soil for it? I don't know.

I went to a beautiful plant store called Utsawa Floral Design at the Tenderloin (don't worry, I went to the safer area). It wasn't hard to spot the store and once I went inside I felt like a kid in a candy store. I can't stop smiling, the whole store is filled with gorgeous plants, never thought I'm a plant person but hey, I learn something new everyday. There were so many cacti and succulents, I can't get over it. The owner kindly gave me a very, very, very helpful guide on how to take care of the air plant — spray once every 4-5 days at night, bright indirect sunlight is the best, give the plant some fresh air.

Now I have this little guy hanging near bed, looking all fancy and hopefully it will stay with me a little longer than my cacti.

What do you think of air plants?

Boo

Halloween is almost here and I never really celebrated halloween because it was not a very popular thing to do back in Bali. I do love the idea of trick or treating (imagine all the candies and chocolates!!!) but the sad truth is I think I'm a little too old for that. I've spotted some houses with the halloween decorations and I have to say, people in America takes halloween very seriously, those houses with amazingly carved pumpkins, spider webs, little ghosts, and all that jazz. I don't know what I'm going to do on halloween yet (if I'm doing anything at all). But here's a super easy halloween inspired nail art for you!

Colors I recommend:
Cleopatra, Eliana, Hope, Nicolette from Julep

What are you going to do on Halloween?

White Jeans

forever 21 cardigan // zara top // stradivarius jeans // forever 21 loafers
White jeans is something that I find hard to style. Why? If you have shorter legs like I do, you'll know that it's though to make it look flattering and let's face it, I'm scared that I'll spill things on it (the reason I have my Tide to go with me at all times). I decided to wear it with these loafers that I love way too much and talk about way too often that elongates my legs and make the jeans look flattering. I have to say that white jeans look great with heels but let's face it, I don't have the energy to walk around in heels all day. And then, I threw on some stripes t-shirt (that I wear too often, just like my loafers) and long knitted cardigan to make everything look more relaxed.

How do you style white jeans?

Camel and High-Waisted

Messily tucked in loose white button-up, high-waisted shorts, and camel coat/blazer. Not quite autumn yet, but it's definitely cooling down — finally.

Autumn Staples

sheinside camel coat // forever 21 cardigan // stradivarius jacket
cloth inc grey sweater // h&m cable knit // flannel
diy-ed forever 21 black jeans // stradivarius light grey jeans // zara jeans // zara skirt

forever 21 loafers // topshop suede boots // nike free 5.0
I did a summer wardrobe staples a few months back and I really enjoyed making it. So here are some of my autumn staples.

Outerwear
1. Camel coat — I had this on my wishlist and my sister kindly got it for me as a birthday present. It's more like a long blazer than a coat and I'm sure I'll be wearing this loads even in the winter because the winter here is not as cold as other places.
2. Chunky cardigans — I've been looking for one of these since last year but I never really make the purchase. I was talking to my friend about me needing a cardigan that's long enough and cozy enough to wear on daily basis and few hours later, we found this cardigan. I tried it on and it fits like a glove.
3. Leather jacket — the jacket that I love too much. A good friend of mine got me this jacket last year before I moved here and it's a definite staple for me.

Tops
1. Light weight sweater — there are those days where I don't think thick sweaters are necessary so light weight sweater is a must.
2. Cable knit sweater — one of my favorite kinds of sweater. They keep me warm and they give plain outfit some interest.
3. Flannel — when I think of autumn one thing come to mind: flannels. It's probably one of the most versatile items in my closet; I can wear it as top, layering piece, or tie it around my waist.

Bottoms
1. Black jeans — I DIYed this pair of jeans to give it more relaxed feel and all I did was ripped one of the knees and I cut the leg openings because they were too long and I like the unfinished look.
2. Grey jeans — these jeans are one of the comfiest jeans or bottoms in general. And I think wearing grey jeans make an outfit more interesting.
3. Denim — comfortable, simple, and goes with everything.
4. Patterned skirt — a great way to add more color to my lately-very-plain-outfit. All I need is just throw on some black tights if it's getting too cold.

Shoes
1. Loafers — the easiest way to make everybody think you put a lot of thoughts into your outfit when really all you do is throw on a pair of loafers and they're something you can wear all day.
2. Flat boots — they're not ankle boots but they're not as tall as my other boots, but just as versatile as my other boots.
3. Bright trainers — do you the theme here? hint: comfortable shoes. Bright trainers are one of the easiest ways to add more colors to an outfit and they are perfect for those days filled with errands.

Worth Following on Instagram

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 /  7
Not too long ago, I shared some of my current top bloggers and I thought hey, why not share my current favorite people on instagram? So here they are

Monika photographed everything so beautifully and her feed is filled with adventures that I wish I can experience.

I found out about Alice a few weeks ago and I fell in love with her feed. Turns out, she's also a blogger and her blog is just as amazing as her instagram photos.

I tapped on that follow button when I first discovered her instagram for one obvious reason: her feed is filled with amazing looking food. I can't count how many times I made the same mistake: looking at her account when I'm hungry.

The first time I saw his instagram my mind was blown — he took stunning travel pictures!

"I have this things with floors" is filled with shoe-porn and gorgeous floors. I can't stop scrolling, too many pretty floors (and shoes).

Steffi has an incredible style and I love how bright and nice her photos are. Let me tell you, the girl knows how to take incredible instagram pictures.

"A picture is worth a thousand words" is probably the best way I can think of for this account. Every pictures has their own stories and well, I never get bored scrolling through their feed.

Who are your favorite instagramers?

Pointed Toes

forever 21 faux leather loafers

Happy Friday, everyone! I didn't had the chance to post on Wednesday, I was too exhausted to write anything and to be honest, I'm short on ideas. I've been thinking about doing a mini birthday haul? I don't know, let me know what you think!

Today I'm sharing something I just received on the mail: my new loafers. The first time I saw these loafers was when I was in class and my classmate was about to return them because it was too narrow for her. I tried it on and her size was too big for me but I like the idea of having a pair of shoes that I can slip on easily and I have narrow feet (which I think you should consider before buying these loafers). I was surprised when she told me it was from Forever 21. I haven't visit their store for quite a while due to the overwhelming stores.

On my birthday a friend of mine gave me a Forever 21 gift card and we went to different stores trying to find these loafer but we couldn't find them so I made the order online. But I have to say that Forever 21 is stepping up their game. They're having a bunch of gorgeous coats and scarfs on the shelves that I tempted to get and I had to I restrain myself. I was so excited when the package arrived (as always) I loooove packages — or anything that comes in the mail for me. I tried it on and they were the perfect size for me. Definitely need to break them in and probably going to have a few blisters but definitely worth it. They give me a bit extra height, they're versatile, and they elongate my legs — the magic of pointed toe shoes. You'll definitely will see more of these babies!

Hot Days

zara t-shirt // mango shorts // vintage cuff // thrifted bag // h&m sandals

It has been incredibly hot for the past week, so hot it reminded me of my hometown. And all I can think about was wearing something light and comfortable which means t-shirt and shorts. I love striped tee and I've always loved the look of red lips with stripes, so why not give it a try? I'm melting  and not functioning properly because of the heat and I still have tons of homework to do, so see you on the next post!

Do you like the red lips and stripes?

Urban Jungle

essie urban jungle

I saw this Essie nail polish a few months back on a blog that I can't remember (sadly) and I instantly told myself I need to get this color. Essie is one of my favorite brand when it comes to nail polishes; beautiful color range, amazing formula, lovely applicator, and dries quickly. I can't describe this color but I absolutely love it! I think it looks flattering and not in-your-face kind of color, a very nice neutral. Finding this color is a pain in the butt, every time I go to the drugstore or supermarket, they're always out. I found mine at a drugstore when I was on my way to class and there was only one left, and of course, I bought it and I'm glad that I did. This nail polish is definitely my favorite at the moment.

What's your favorite nail polish at the moment?

Nineteen

I'm officially 19 now! Yesterday, I woke up early (like 7:20 early) for no reason in particular and skype my best friend who's a million miles away from me and kind enough to stay up late to skype me and got me some cake and candles too! My family ordered a dozen cupcakes for me from home (online I'm guessing?) and had them delivered to me, but I sleep like a log and had no idea someone's knocking on the door, so I had to pick it up at the store. They are so delicious! And I had a big bowl of ramen for dinner with my friend and finally had the chance to meet up with her and chat whil.

I'm grateful for all these people in my life and all the things they do to brighten up my days.

September Loves

revlon brow fantasy in dark brown // the body shop warming mineral mask // neutrogena skin clearing foundation
bare minerals conceal & reveal kit

October is here and I am so excited! But today I'm sharing my September favorites.

1. Revlon Brow Fantasy in Dark Brown
My brows has been wired, especially the one on the right, it's getting thinner and thinner, and not sure why. This little pencil and gel combo is really helpful and compact. It's also a lot faster than filling my brows with eyeshadow and having to pull out another brow gel to set everything.

2. The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask + Neutrogena Skin Clearing Foundation
Of course, I have to mention these two products from my four products that saved my skin post. Due to the pore-clogging-horrible-skin drama, I use my Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask to deep clean everything twice a week and this Neutrogena Skin Clearing foundation has done an amazing job to keep everything not looking to crazy without clogging my pores.

For my under eyes, I've been using the Bare Minerals concealer and the brightener — both are doing an amazing job at making me look awake and less zombie-like. I never really thought of using eye brightener before, but I bought the concealer and the mini Well-Rested Face & Eye Brightener as a set with a mini brush that I use sometimes and I for the days I didn't get enough sleep, I'll slap some of the eye brightener and I look so much more awake.

4. Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss lipstick in 01
As I mentioned in my Autumn Lips post, I have a new obsession with red lipstick and this color is my absolute favorite. It smells amazing and it's not drying at all. I might need to get some more of these.

5. Forever 21 rings
The other week my friend and I stopped by Forever 21 just to look around. Of course, there's no way of getting out of Forever 21 empty handed. I got these rings in a set with another silver ring that I haven't worn that much. I personally prefer delicate jewelries better but I like having some other options and surprisingly I've been wearing these rings loads, especially the silver one.

6. Trader Joe's Speculoos Cookie Butter
Does this count as a spread or just "cookie butter"? I don't know and I don't really care. All I know is it's amazing and I can never have enough to the point I eat this with my toast more than Nutella. Go get some if you can get your hands on this amazing cookie butter!

Probably my best find of 2014. It fits everything I need (except for my way-too-thick textbooks). I just love it and I said everything I need to say on this post, go read it if you haven't.

What have you been loving this month?
