January Loves

It's time for another favorites (an early one)! January has come to an end and I'm back in San Francisco now, jet lagged and all that. I spent most of January in Bali and I enjoy every single second of it, it's really nice to be able to spent some time with my family and friends who I haven't seen in almost a year, and I miss them already  – okay, that's enough, don't get too deep here.

1. Minolta SRT-101 – No brainer for this one, I've always wanted a film camera and I've been waiting the right moment to make the purchase it. I used 2 rolls already, I can't wait to see the results!

2. Stradivarius shoes – Stradivarius is a store that I call danger zone because it's almost impossible for me to walk out the store empty handed, especially when they're having a sale. First of all, they are patent. Second, they are super comfortable! I wore them almost everyday every since I bought them (you can see them here)

3. Zara shorts – I tried these jeans on last summer, I think, but I didn't buy them right away, I told myself to think about it and see how I feel about them. And guess what, I couldn't stop thinking about them and when I went back to the store, yup, you guessed it, they're not there anymore *groans in frustration* this happens to me all the damn time. But then, I was shopping online and saw them and bam, bought it. They are so comfortable and they go with everything, basically the only shorts I wore in Bali.

4. Glasses – I have awful eyesights, I wear contacts on daily basis since I was in 8th grade. I got the frame from Urban Outfitters because I love the tortoise shell effect and they're not too big for me! So when I was back home (the day before I got my wisdom tooth pulled out), I finally got my prescription lenses installed.

5. Foil tattoos – It's summer 24/7 in Bali which was a great reason to have temporary tattoos. My sister and I was completely obsessed!

6. Book by mcmurs – I bought this book in December when I was on my trip to Jogjakarta with my family. I found this gorgeous handmade book at the Vredeburg fortress, I haven't written anything in it yet but I have some ideas of what I'm going to do with it.

7. Rings – Also something I got from my trip to Jogjakarta, one of them is a midi ring and the other one is just a normal ring, I'll definitely going to show their details in another post. They were made from silver and I got them for such good prices. The best part is I don't have to take them off when I'm washing my hands and they won't turn into some ugly color.

8. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Full Coverage Foundation – That's right, I splurged. I've been debating on investing in a good base, and I asked for a sample from Sephora for this foundation. I was so happy with the result and I bought the full size product, the price was quite steep for me, but it's worth it. It doesn't break me out, doesn't feel heavy, and it looks very natural, what more could I ask for?

9. Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner – Yes, I'm bringing the winged liner back in my life thanks to my sister who introduced me to this eyeliner. It has brush tip instead of felt tip, which I really appreciate – me and felt tip just don't get along very well. It was super affordable and it works so much better than my old eyeliner. It's not the perfect eyeliner, it smears when I rub my eyes but well, it does an amazing job for now.

10. Business card – That's right, I have a business card that I designed. I've been putting it off for so long and I finally did it when I was back home. It's so satisfying just to look at it. Who am I going to give it to? I have no idea but hey, it's good to be prepared, right?

11. Watch – This last item has a special spot for me. It's not the trendiest design and it doesn't look the coolest, but it was my mum's. I got the chains adjusted to my wrist and changed the battery. I think it's simple, and will go with most things.

Island Living

Another week has passed by, I spent the past week catching up with my close friends and family. And I may or may have not had my wisdom teeth extracted and looked like a chipmunk (yup, totally happened). The teeth surgery was not as scary as I thought it would be, it was actually quite fast and painless! My cheeks are not as swollen as it was few days ago and the bruises on them (I slept on them and I woke up with bruises, very attractive) are fading as well.

My friends and I went to two different beaches that I've never been to before yesterday. I've heard about these beaches for years and years when I grew up but never made the action to actually visit it. We decided to go to Padang-padang beach (the first two pictures), there were quite a lot of people swimming and it was lovely, we stared at the sea for a little while and decided to go somewhere else where we can sit and snack, so to Echo Beach it is! Echo Beach has beautiful waves, therefore there were a lot of surfers out there yesterday, one of them even have a watermelon surfboard - ah! It was the cutest surfboard I've ever seen! It was a lot windier than Padang-padang beach, which is a big plus for me, I thought I was going to melt at Padang-padang Beach. We arrived and went to a cafe there and sit near the water and had some (actual) coconut water and snacks, it was amazing! We were planning to wait for the sunset but unfortunately, we didn't have enough time. When you had the chance to visit Bali, I would recommend Echo and Padang-padang beach, you'll have so much fun! I hope I'll have time to visit a few more beaches before I leave.

I have to say, I do miss the cozy sweaters and layering up, but I know I'll miss this weather and view as well. Better soak it up while I can.

Most Comfortable

h&m top // zara shorts // stradivarius shoes

Sheer loose shirt, denim shorts, and some brogues are basically my favorite things to wear. They are basically super comfortable because we all know I'm all about that comfortableness and they are more than just t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops (which I also love).

My sister took these amazing pictures (even though most of them are out of focus, they still turn out to be pretty awesome) for me in front of my dad's office. I love how there's a little wind and it's cloudy and not too bright or hot – perfect for some picture taking session.

What's your favorite comfortable outfit?

Here's to 2015

aldo hat // zara tee and shorts

My last outfit of 2014, comfortable and simple. This fedora is actually my dads', he got a little obsessed with fedoras while I was away, but hey, I'm digging it as long as I can borrow them ;) And as you can see on the gigantic picture of my wrists with silver and gold tattoos on them, thanks to my sister! I've been wanting to try them out since I saw them but they were so expensive, I also bought some from amazon for waaaaay cheaper. You'll definitely will see more of them!

2015 is here and I'll share some of my new years resolution.
1. Work hard, but don't forget to take a break
2. Socialize more
3. Explore
4. Try to do something new
5. Be confident
We'll see how many of them I actually do!

Let's raise our drink (mine's a orange flavored water, hahaha), here's to 2015!

What are some of your new year's resolution?

A Trip to the Temples, Volcano, and A Cave

First of all, I hope everyone's having an amazing Christmas and Happy New Years to us all! I'm so excited for 2015, 2014 flew so quickly and it was one of the best year I've had so far, may 2015 be a fabulous year for us all! Secondly, I'm sorry for being MIA, I completely forgot how awful the internet is here – it's getting on my nerves.

For my first post of the year, I'll be sharing a trip that I went to recently with my family. We went to Jogjakarta, a city in Indonesia that I've never been to. Culture and art are the two things that always pass through my mind when I think about this city. We were there for 5 days and out the highlight of the trip is definitely going to the Mount Merapi that erupted few years back and going to the Jomblang Cave.

We went to Mount Merapi right after we landed and visit Prambanan Temple – which was amazing. We hopped on a jeep and went to the village that was destroyed by the eruption few years ago, the road to the village was very bumpy, as in 'hold on very tight or you'll fly out of the jeep' kind of bumpy. There were so many beautiful scenery on our way to the village and it was really interesting to see what survived the volcano and what didn't survived. I definitely recommend going the village if you're planning to go to Jogjakarta.

Another place that I recommend is Jomblang Cave. I went there on my last day, we went to the cave quite early in the morning because we want to avoid traffic and our driver suggested that we arrive at 1 PM-ish, when the sun is up high. When we arrived the staff made us change our shoes to boots they provide (bring a pair of socks you don't care about anymore, I had to throw mine away) and helmet. The staff guided us to the mouth of the cave and helped us with our harnesses, and hooked us on a rope. The cave was 60 meters deep, if you're scared of heights, stay away, they lower us down slowly and surely, it took us less than two minutes to get down. At the bottom was a small forest, which was very pretty, but that's not the main attraction of the trip, we walked down the muddy and somewhat slippery pathway to another a huge tunnel that lead us to another cave where the heavenly light was, it was gorgeous! You can read more about the cave and the procedures here.

I'll post a photo diary of the trip soon!

What did you do on Christmas day and New Years Eve?
